Here is a list of scholarships, all of which have February deadlines.

Association of Women in Mathematics Essay Contest

Amount: Varies

Apply by: February 1, 2024

Description: Contest is open to students in grades 6 through 12 and undergraduate students. Student must submit an essay based on an interview with a women currently working in a mathematical career.

Harriet Fitzgerald Scholarship

Amount: $10,000

Apply by: February 1, 2024

Description: Scholarship is open to female graduating high school seniors who wish to attend a women’s college in the United States. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.7 or higher.

Sponsor: The Sunflower Initiative

 

Junior Duck Stamp Contest

Amount: Up to $1,000

Apply by: February 1, 2024

Description: Contest is open to students in grades K-12 who draw, paint, or sketch a picture of an eligible North American waterfowl species. 

Sponsor: United States Fish & Wildlife Service

 

JVS Scholarships

Amount: Up to $8,000

Apply by: : February 1, 2024

Description: Scholarship is open to Jewish students who are in their junior or senior years of undergraduate studies or graduate students who were born and raised in the Chicago metropolitan area.

Sponsor: JVS Chicago

 

National Garden Clubs Scholarship

Amount: Up to $4,000

Apply by: February 1, 2024

Description: Open to undergraduate and graduate students planning a career related to gardening, landscape design, environmental issues, floral design or horticulture.

Sponsor: GardenClub.org

 

AMS Freshman Undergraduate Scholarships

Amount: $5,000

Apply by: February 3, 2024

Description: Open to students entering their freshman year of college in the fall of 2023 and must be planning to pursue a degree in the atmospheric or related oceanic or hydrologic sciences.

Sponsor: American Meteorological Society

 

Balams Firm Scholarship

Amount: $2,500

Apply by: February 5, 2024

Description: Open to students who will submit a video or essay describing how they plan to utilize their college degree to make an impact on their community.

SPJ School Essay Contest

Amount: Up to $1,000

Apply by: February 5 2024

Description: Open to students enrolled in grades 9-12 within the United States who will submit an essay on the topic, “While consumers are drawn toward tweets and sound bites, how can journalists tell more of the story without losing reader’ interest?”

Harry S. Truman Scholarship

Amount: Up to $30,000

Apply by: February 6, 2024

Description: Scholars program is open to full-time junior-level students at four-year institutions pursuing a bachelor’s degree during the 2023-24 academic year. Applicant must have an extensive record of public and/or community service and be committed to a career in government or in public service.

The National Ag Day Essay Contest

Amount: $1000

Apply by: February 9, 2024

Description:Open to high school students who submit an original essay of 450 words or less, or a two-minute video, on the following topic: “Agriculture: Food for Life. How Does Our Nation Lead the Way?”

Davidson Fellows Scholarship

Amount: Up to $50,000

Apply by: February 14, 2024

Description: Open to young people, 18 and under, who have completed a significant piece of work. Application categories are Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Literature, Music, Philosophy and Outside the Box.

HSF General College Scholarships

Amount: Up to $5,000

Apply by:  February 15, 2024

Description: Open to students of Hispanic descent who are graduating high school seniors, community colleges students, transfer students, college students, or graduate students. All majors and graduate fields are accepted, with an emphasis on STEM majors.

Sponsor: Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF)

 

HIAS Immigrant Scholarship

Amount: Varies

Apply by: February 16, 2024

Description: Open to individuals who identify as Jewish, and were assisted (or whose family was assisted) by HIAS Immigration & Citizenship in Chicago specifically.

Gordon A. Rich Scholarship

Amount: $12,500 (renewable)

Apply by: February 16, 2024

Description: Scholarship money is available to offspring of those working in the financial services industry. Each GAR scholarship is worth up to $50,000 (approximately $12,500/year) awarded to hardworking high school students who have a financial need.

Video Contest for College Students

Amount: Up to $2,000

Apply by: February 16, 2024

Description: Open to college students who can create a video that must interpret some variation of the theme, “One Person Can Make a Difference.”

Lounge Lizard Web Design Award

Amount: $1,000

Apply by: February 18, 2024

Description: Open to all student sat an accredited school within the United States, or be accepted to begin school at an accredited school within 6 months of application who can submit a design or live URL. The web design can be from past or present.

Vegetarian Resource Group

Amount: Up to $10,000

Apply by: February 20, 2024

Description: Contest is open to graduating U.S. high school students who have promoted vegetarianism in their schools and/or communities.

Scholars Helping Collars Scholarship

Amount: $1,500

Apply by: February 27, 2024

Description: Open to students from across the U.S. who can tell the best story, describing the impact he or she made in the life of a rescue animal or animal welfare cause in general.

Antonia Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

Apply by:  February 28, 2024

Description: Open to graduating high school seniors in the U.S. who plan to enroll as an English or History major.

Cyrus Artisan Rugs Scholarship

Amount: $500

Description: Open to incoming and current college students studying interior design. Applicant must submit an essay on the rug industry.

The Dream.US National Scholarship Program

Amount: Varies up to $29,000

Apply by: February 28, 2024

Description: Applicant must be a DREAMer who is DACA eligible and has applied for or received DACA approval. Applicants should be a first time college student and intend to attend a partner college.

Description: Open to all cancer survivors or those undergoing treatment for cancer between the ages of 17-26.
