Mother's Day wishes for college-bound kids

Mothers make lots of wishes for their children.

Toss in a pandemic, and a few themes begin to emerge.

That’s exactly what happened when we asked moms in our Paying for College 101 Facebook Group to tell us one wish they’d make on Mother’s Day for their soon-to-be college freshmen.

Here are some highlights, edited slightly for clarity and length:

That they can move on from all of this and start their freshman year off right!  – Ann

That she can attend in-person classes and live on campus, the goal she’s been planning and working toward!  – Jennifer

I hope that he discovers a passion that will bring him joy and success. – Susan

That they remember what we have taught them all these years, have the courage to be brave, and try new things and experiences! – Jennifer

That her freshman year of college is everything she expected it would be & more, to ease the sadness of what was lost her senior year of high school. – Toni

I hope going into college she embraces some of the fun, stays safe, and is able to have the traditional college experience even though it’s not where she always dreamed she would be going. – Shannon
