Use Compare College Offers to see what other students at the same schools received for needs based and merit scholarships.

Here’s a link to copy our Total College Cost Comparison Spreadsheet.

Use this spreadsheet to enter in all your student’s college offers, along with money you are planning to contribute each year.

This spreadsheet is a 4-year look at what college will cost your family, including the cost of taking out any loans.

The loan information is based on current rates for federal student loans and parent plus loans. The parent plus loan is the most expensive loan a family should take (in terms of interest rate), so this is your worst case scenario.

You can also use this spreadsheet to fool around with how much you can contribute vs. how much your student will borrow and how much you’ll borrow or cosign for your student.

These are the federal student loan amounts your student can borrow each year:

Freshman year: $5500 in total, $3500 max in subsidized loans

Sophomore year: $6500 in total, $4500 in subsidized loans

Junior & Senior year: $7500 in total, $5500 in subsidized loans
